Why Choose Majesty Morocco for Private Tours

Morocco Deserves
More Than a Checklist

Most travelers pass through Morocco. Our guests inherit it.

We didn’t build Majesty Morocco to sell tours. We built it because Morocco deserves more than a group bus, a rushed medina walk, a hotel that could be anywhere in the world.

“Your guide isn’t reading from a script — he grew up in the shadow of the Kasbah. Your riad wasn’t picked from a catalogue — we slept there ourselves. Your desert camp isn’t a tent — it’s a palace under the stars.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Get in touch — we respond within a few hours.

What is included in a private Morocco tour with Majesty Morocco? +
Every private Morocco tour includes: private airport transfers both ways, a private English-speaking guide every day, a private air-conditioned vehicle for every journey, hand-picked riads (private buyout wherever possible), all activities and experiences, luxury Sahara camp on desert itineraries, and 24/7 WhatsApp support from our Marrakech team. Nothing is arranged on the day — everything is pre-confirmed before you land.
What is the difference between a private Morocco tour and a group tour? +
On a group tour, you travel with strangers, stop when the schedule says stop, and experience Morocco at the pace of the slowest member of a group you did not choose. On a private Morocco tour with Majesty Morocco, you have a dedicated guide, your own vehicle, your own schedule and your own Sahara camp with no other travelers in sight. Morocco rewards the traveler who slows down — something only a private itinerary allows.
How much does a private Morocco tour cost? +
Pricing depends on duration, group size, accommodation level and specific experiences. As a guide: a 7-8 night private Morocco tour for two typically starts from $3,200–$4,500 all-inclusive. Family tours and larger groups often have lower per-person costs. We provide a full itemized quote within 24 hours — free, no obligation. No hidden fees. Everything confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
Can I fully customize my Morocco itinerary? +
Every Majesty Morocco itinerary is built from scratch around your specific trip — no fixed packages, no catalogue. Tell us how many days you have, who is traveling and what you want to feel by the end. We send a complete custom itinerary within 24 hours. If it is not exactly right, we revise until it is. We have never sent the same itinerary twice.
How long should a Morocco trip be? +
A minimum of 7 nights covers Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara properly. 10–12 nights adds Fes, Chefchaouen and the Atlantic coast. 5–6 nights works well for Marrakech, the Atlas and Essaouira without the desert. For families and first-time visitors, we recommend at least 8 nights to allow a proper pace — Morocco rewards slowing down.
What is the best time to visit Morocco? +
The best times to visit Morocco are March–April and October–November — warm across all regions, ideal desert temperatures, lower crowds than summer. Summer (June–August) is brutally hot inland and in the Sahara, but excellent on the Atlantic coast. December–February is quiet, great value and beautiful in the cities with cold desert nights requiring warm layers.
Is Morocco good for a honeymoon? +
Morocco is one of the world's most romantic honeymoon destinations. Private riads with candlelit courtyards, a private Sahara camp under a sky with zero light pollution, sunset camel treks built for two, rooftop dinners over the medina — all completely private. We have designed over 400 Morocco honeymoon itineraries for American couples. See our Morocco honeymoon page.
Is Morocco a good destination for families with children? +
Morocco is exceptional for families. Camel rides, Sahara camps, 4x4 Atlas mountain days and ancient kasbahs work brilliantly for children of all ages. Moroccan culture places enormous value on children — your family will be received with genuine warmth everywhere. We design Morocco family tours around your children's ages and interests, splitting days between adventure and riad pool time. See our family vacation page.
How far in advance should I book a private Morocco tour? +
For March–April and October–November travel, book 3–4 months ahead — private Sahara camps in Erg Chigaga have limited capacity and fill early. For all other months, 4–6 weeks is usually sufficient. We can accommodate last-minute requests when availability allows — contact us and we will be honest about what we can deliver at short notice.
What should I pack for a Morocco trip? +
Lightweight loose layers for the medina (covering shoulders and knees is practical), warm layers for desert nights (temperatures drop sharply after dark), comfortable walking shoes for medina cobblestones, a wide-brimmed hat for the Sahara, sunscreen, and a power adapter (Morocco uses Type C/E plugs, 220V). We send every client a detailed packing guide specific to their itinerary after booking.
Is Morocco safe for American tourists in 2026? +
Yes. Morocco is rated Level 1 by the US State Department — Exercise Normal Precautions — the same rating as France, Germany and Spain. With Majesty Morocco, every traveler has a private guide, private vehicle, vetted accommodation and 24/7 WhatsApp support. In 14 years of operation we have never had a serious client safety incident.
Is Morocco safe for solo female travelers? +
Yes — with a private operator. The challenges that exist for solo women in Morocco (persistent vendors in busy medinas, navigating unfamiliar streets) are largely eliminated with a private guide who walks with you every day. We have hosted hundreds of solo female travelers from the US without a single serious safety incident. See our solo travel Morocco page.
Do I need a visa to visit Morocco from the USA? +
No. US citizens enter Morocco visa-free for stays up to 90 days. A valid US passport is all you need — no advance application, no fees, no visa on arrival required. Simply present your passport at the border and you are in.
Is Morocco safe after the 2023 earthquake? +
Yes — fully. The September 2023 earthquake affected the High Atlas region around Amizmiz and Taroudant. By 2025, recovery was complete across all major tourist infrastructure. Marrakech, the medinas, all desert routes and the Atlantic coast are fully operational and unaffected. Morocco is not in a conflict zone and shares no borders with active conflict regions.
What is the difference between Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) and Erg Chigaga (M'Hamid)? +
Erg Chebbi near Merzouga has dunes up to 150 metres — Morocco's most famous Sahara, accessible by paved road. Ideal for first-time visitors and shorter itineraries. Erg Chigaga near M'Hamid el Ghizlane is Morocco's largest and most remote desert, requiring 60km of off-piste 4x4 track across the dried bed of Lake Iriki. No generator noise, no visible camps, complete silence. Choose Erg Chigaga if you want the Sahara entirely to yourself.
How do you get from Marrakech to the Sahara desert? +
The drive from Marrakech to Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) is approximately 9 hours by private vehicle via the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass and Ouarzazate — a scenic day in itself. We always break this journey across 2 days, stopping at Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate and the Dades/Todra Gorges. The Sahara is the destination, but the road there is half the experience.
What is a private Sahara camp like? +
A private Sahara camp is a luxury tented camp with no other travelers in sight — your family or group only. Proper beds, private bathroom facilities, dinner served on the dunes by lantern light, and a night sky with zero light pollution for 300 kilometres in any direction. It is not camping in any conventional sense. It is the most extraordinary night most of our clients have ever had.
What is the Draa Valley and why should I visit it? +
The Draa Valley is a 200km route of date palm oases, earthen kasbahs and Berber villages following the Draa River south of Ouarzazate toward Zagora and M'Hamid. It contains Tamegroute's 1,000-year-old manuscript library, Foum Chenna's 2,500 rock engravings, and the Amezrou Jewish kasbah. Most travelers rush through it on the way to the desert. Our clients who slow down in it consistently say it was the most memorable part of the trip.
Which airport should I fly into for a Morocco trip? +
Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) is the best entry point for most itineraries — direct flights from New York (JFK), Washington DC and other US cities via Royal Air Maroc and connecting flights via European hubs. If your itinerary includes Fes or Chefchaouen first, Fes–Saïss Airport (FEZ) is an alternative. We advise on the best routing for your specific itinerary after booking.
What currency is used in Morocco and should I bring cash? +
Morocco uses the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Cards are accepted at most riads, restaurants and larger shops. Cash is useful for the souk, tips and smaller purchases. ATMs are widely available in all major cities. We recommend withdrawing Dirhams on arrival rather than exchanging at the airport — rates are better in city ATMs. Tipping guides (100–200 MAD per day) and drivers (50–100 MAD per day) is customary and appreciated.
Do I need travel insurance for Morocco? +
Yes — we strongly recommend travel insurance for all Morocco trips. Ensure your policy covers medical evacuation, trip cancellation and activity-based travel if you are trekking, camel riding or quad biking. Healthcare in Morocco's major cities is adequate for minor issues but serious incidents should be repatriated. We can recommend reliable travel insurance providers on request.
What languages are spoken in Morocco? +
Morocco's official languages are Arabic and Amazigh (Berber). French is widely spoken and understood across the country. English is spoken by guides, riad staff and most people in the tourism industry. All Majesty Morocco guides are fluent in English. You do not need to speak French or Arabic to travel comfortably in Morocco with us.
